Camp Misty

Nyomi, unlike 80% of the campers there, actually wanted to get a book so when a computer freed up she let Zach use it

Jeven ran up the path and towards the nurse's office

"You don't wanna use it?" Zach asked. He didn't mind reading, he really enjoyed it actually, but he figured he probably wasn't going to get a lot of chances to use a computer these next three weeks and his parents wanted emails from him or Justice to see how they were doing.

Justice sat on the rock, rubbing the bump on her head and glaring out at the water.

"I don't have any reason to" Jeven could tell her his parents said hi and it wasn't like she'd get them from anyone else

(... why do I always do these things to my characters? XD)

After a while Jeven came back, walking over to her and handing her the ice pack

"If you say so," Zach said, deciding not to pry any. He sat down in front of the computer and opened up his email, sending his parents a quick message saying, yes, him and Justice were both still alive and were having fun, or he was at least.

Justice took the ice pack and pressed it to her head. "Thanks," she said again, hating how foreign the word felt on her tongue.

Nyomi started going through the books, trying to find something interesting to read

"You're welcome" He smiled, taking his shoes back off

Zach didn't have much else to do on the computer, so after that he logged off and began looking through the books instead.

Justice actually smiled back a tiny bit, this whole situation was foreign.

She picked up Divergent, telling the counselor acting as a librarian she was gonna take it back to her cabin and sitting down on the couch

"Do you still wanna swim?" He asked, putting his shoes next to a rock

Zach sat down on the couch beside her a few seconds later, a book of his own in his hands. "What'cha reading?"

"Yeah, I guess. Just give me a few minutes for my head to stop throbbing," Justice said.

"Divergent, you?"

"Okay," He smiled "I'll be in the water"

"Just something I picked up off the shelf," Zach replied. He hadn't really looked at the title or anything. "Divergent's a good book though."

"Okay, I'll be there in a second..." Justice replied, not sure why he was being nice to her. She really wasn't used to anyone sticking around and being nice to her despite her temper.

"You've read it?" She looked away from the page "I've heard that it's really good"

Jeven was just this nice to everyone, but Justice hadn't actually been pissed at him yet

"Yep. You heard right," Zach said with a shrug. "I read it a few months ago."

Justice pulled the ice pack away from her head and lightly touched the place where the rock had hit her. It wasn't throbbing any more, at least. She put the ice pack down and walked back to the water.

"Oh, cool" She smiled, suddenly wanting to listen to music on the computer

Jeven noticed Justice coming back in and waved, having finished swimming laps. Now he was floating on his back

"Guess I'll leave you alone to read now," Zach said, shutting up so she could read.

Justice waved back and almost smiled before diving off the dock and into the water.

She shrugged "It's fine, you can keep talking. I'm probably going to end up waiting until tonight to read anyways"

Jeven started looking around, noticing a rope swing

(you know, the type people can jump into a lake with)

"Oh, good, I thought I was bugging you," Zach admitted, grinning.

Justice popped out of the water a second later and pushed some hair that had come free from her ponytail out of her face. She wasn't sure whether she should go up to Jeven and talk to him or not. She honestly wasn't used to people treating her nicely and she didn't know how to react to it.

"Really?" She asked, not finding him annoying

Jeven thought about if for a second then shrugged, swimming over "Hey, I'm gonna go use the rope swing. Wanna come?" It was a stupid request, but he liked doing things with people


(... again I feel bad for her)

"Yeah. For all I knew, you really wanted to read and I was just getting in your way," Zach said, shrugged. "Good to know you aren't annoyed by me."

Justice looked up at rope swing. She hadn't noticed it before. "Er... sure," she said after a pause.

"Nah, actually interacting with other people is pretty important. Even if I do wanna read the book" She closed the book, shrugging "What made you think I was annoyed?"


"You don't have to" He said, noticing her hesitation

(*makes mental note that Jeven and Justice need to learn eachother's names*)

"That's true." Zach shrugged. "I dunno. I just know that when I'm reading or doing something like that I don't like people coming up to me and interrupting me. I was worried that you might be annoyed by that too, is all."

"No, it's not like I have anything to do over here, except maybe get hit by another rock." She muttered the last part.

(We're not very good at getting our character to introduce themselves, are we? xD)

"I am, but I hadn't actually had the chance to start reading anyways" She played with the map/schedule, realizing they could go buy snacks soon

"I doubt they'd do it again.." The kids seemed pretty scared of Justice

(It'd be awkward if they reach the first end of week banquet and they're finally like "Oh hey, my name Jeven btw")

"Well, in that case, there was nothing for me to be worried about, was there?" Zach asked, grinning.

"They better not," Justice said, glancing at a few of them, who quickly swam away from her.

(Haha xD As funny and awkward as that would be, hopefully they'll introduce themselves soon. xD)

"Exactly, you were all worried and there was no reason to be" She watched two kids fighting over a computer, realizing barely anyone else actually came to get a book

"That's probably how they'll react for the rest of the day." He commented, shrugging and starting to swim to the rope swing

(*pokes Justice* She has to ask what his name is XD)

"I know, silly me," Zach joked, watching the two kids fight and shaking his head at them.

"Fine by me," Justice stated. She didn't want any more little kids causing trouble for her anyway. As she swam after him, she realized that she didn't even know his name. "Er... I'm Justice, by the way."

"... Why aren't the counselors breaking up the fight?" Nyomi frowned, wondering if one of the older campers had to do it

Jeven hadn't realized that, looking over his shoulder at her "I'm Jeven" He climbed out of the water and onto the rather slippery rocks, climbing up the rest until he reached the tree the rope was tied to
