"Maybe they're just really hungry." I said, joking. Unless they were starving, which they obviously weren't, there wasn't any reason to be that pushy

"Ha,maybe." I laughed slightly. "I'm Kaci,bye the way."

I had spent all of orientation writing and looking around at my new school -- well, the room we'd been in, at least. In other words, I hadn't been paying much attention and, when everyone got up and rushed out, I didn't have the faintest clue where they were all going. Not wanting to be the last one in the room, I rushed to put my notebook away and follow the crowd. To say I looked a little lost would have been an understatement. I looked completely confused and lonely and incredibly lost.

"I'm Cassandra." I replied, smiling and waiting for everyone else to leave before I went to the cafeteria. Noticing a girl that looked incredibly confused, I added "Do you think she needs help with something?" When it came down to it, shyness wouldn't stop me from helping somebody

"Yes,I think she does...she looks quite lost." I commented "Should we go ask her whats wrong?"

Noticing two other girls looking in my direction and talking to each other, I immediately looked away and wrapped my arms tightly around myself. Were they talking about me? Was there something on my face or something? I worried as I tried to look a little less lost and alone. It wasn't an easy task.

I already missed my friends back home.

"Are you okay?You look a little lost.." I asked the girl,walking over to her.

I followed Kaci, offering the girl a smile

"Uh..." My socially awkward side immediately kicked in and I lost the ability of speech for a moment. Fortunately, I regained it not a few seconds later. "Yeah, I'm, uh, fine." I wasn't, and it occurred to me that I probably should ask where I was supposed to go now, but it was too late now, I decided. I didn't like asking for help and I really didn't like having to correct myself to total strangers. My face was already turning red at the idea. Or maybe it was the fact that I was talking to a stranger. Either or.

"Oh..okay.." she nodded.Seeing that the audotoriam was now completly empty she said "err to luch now I guess..?"

"Uh.. okay" I didn't want to insist she wasn't okay, that'd be awkward "Do you wanna come eat with us?"

Lunch, of course, I realized glancing briefly at the time and realizing that that would make a lot of sense. A little too much sense, hey brain? I thought to myself, inwardly rolling my eyes. I glanced at the second girl as she asked if I wanted to eat lunch with them and spent a moment thinking about the offer. I couldn't refuse. If I did, I'd have to make an excuse as to why and then I'd have to avoid the cafeteria, and then I couldn't get anything to eat, and I was starving. So, despite myself, I nodded and shrugged. "Um, okay..."

'You don't have to if you don't want to" I said, getting the feeling she didn't want to. Which was fine.

"No. It's okay. I, uh, I want to," I muttered. Once again, I'd already agreed, and I wasn't going to go back and correct myself. "It's not like I have anyone else to eat with," I added, forcing an awkward smile.

"Right.." I didn't believe her, but shrugged "Let's get going then"

"Okay..." I nodded, wrapping my arms around myself and waiting for her to lead since I had no idea which direction to go in.

After standing there awkwardly for a few minutes, I realized I was supposed to lead and sighed "I have no clue where the cafeteria is...."

"Oh, me neither," I admitted. Still, I made no move to take the lead, nor did I even consider it. I hated leading, or making decisions. It was something that had always bothered my friends back home.

"Should we ask somebody?" I really didn't want to miss lunch

"I guess. Maybe." I shrugged. As long as I wasn't the one to have to ask, I would be okay with it.

"Will you do the asking?" I didn't want to do it either

"I... Uh... I'd rather not..." I squeaked, hoping she wouldn't make me. Just the idea was enough to freak me out.

"But I do't wanna do it" Maybe we should just wander around until we found it

"I don't want to either," I frowned, staring intently at the floor.

"Should we just... wander aimlessly and try to find it?"
