Juno giggled and got rid of the mud and sticks. She scratched Bulbasaur behind his ear holes.

(Haha, I didn't think he'd have ears, sooo...)

Bulbasaur smiled. "Bulba!" he cried happily.

((I don't think he has ears, either. ))

"Let's go." Juno said. "I want to meet someone."

"Bulba." He nodded.

Sara, who had decided to split up with Hannah for the moment, was walking along Route One, watching all the Pokémon near the edge of the forest as she walked.

Juno turned onto Route One and accidentally bumped into a girl. "Sorry." Juno muttered, picking up the stolen Pokeball, which fell.

(LOL Sara should recognize the pokeball from Prof. Oak's lab...that'd be awkward for Juno to explain...)

"It's okay," Sara said, backing up. "Hey, is that one of Professor Oak's Pokéballs? Are you from Pallet Town or something...?"

"Um, yeah. I'm from Pallet Town." Juno said. "Hm? Oh you mean my Bulbasaur pokeball. Yeah, I got the last of the bunch, but Bulbasaur and I, we're rejects together." Juno laughed, trying to hide the stolen Pokeball with her jacket.

"Mmmmhmmm." Sara nodded slowly. "Well...uh...have fun with that...?"

"What Pokemon do you have?" Juno asked.

"Charmander," Sara said proudly, nodding.

"Who has Squirtle?" Juno wondered aloud.

"My friend Hannah," Sara explained. "We're traveling together, but we decided to split up for awhile."

"Lucky you." Juno said. "I haven't met anyone for a while...but me and Bulbasaur are tight."

"Bulba." Bulbasaur nodded.

"Soo...want to walk with me?" Juno asked. "I know this sweet Pokemon cafe down the road..."

"Well okay," Sata said, nodding and smiling, then started to walk along. Her Charmander, whom had stayed quiet until now, looked over at the Bulbasaur. "Char, char!" it said, waving.

Bulbasaur jumped out of Juno's arms and ran over to Charmander. "Bulba, Bulbasaur!" he said happily.

"Great." Juno said. "It's just down the way here..."

((*Starts to translate Pokémon*))

"You're a Bulbasaur," said the Charmander, although it's Trainers couldn't understand, "right?"

"You sure?" Sara inquired, re-shouldering her bag. "I thought Route One was mostly woods."

((*translates Pokemon* XD))

"Yes..." Bulbasaur replied. "You're a Charmander. Fire type."

"Mm-hm." Juno said. "They used to open these cafes all over for tourists, but then tourists all went to other regions and the shops closed. But groups of Trainers opened them up again and started serving food. It's fun, kind of hipster."

((THIS IS NO LAUGHING MATTER! *Flails*))

"That I am!" Charmander replied, nodding. "You're Grass type. I'd beat you in a battle."

"Oh...fancy," Sara said simply, nodding and looking around.

"And I beat nobody." Bulbasaur said sadly. "Except humans." Bulbasaur added slyly.

"You okay?" Juno touched Sara's arm.

"Well yeah you do!" Charmander protested. "If we meet a Water type, you'll have the upper hand! What do you mean by that?"

"Uh...I'm fine," Sara said, pulling her arm back. "Thanks for your concern, though...?"

"Really?" Bulbasaur asked. "Wow, I didn't know that! Sorry, I don't get around much...but that Squirtle better watch out."

"Great." Juno said.

"Haha, it's okay!" Charmander said. "Yup! Dun, dun, dun!"

"What's so great about it?" asked Sara, looking up at the sky.

Bulbasaur laughed. "I think we should be friends."

"You're upset." Juno said. "Maybe the cafe thing was a dumb idea..."

"Sounds good," Charmander agreed, nodding.

"I am not upset!" Sara exclaimed, flailing her arms around.
