Event: Just celebrated Azure’s first birthday, witch’s cycle
is about to begin.
Location: Demon Realms, Myst Dimensions.
“Do you
not trust me with the girl? Honestly we’ve raised her for a year, I will be
here for the socialization and for the magic detail, the servants will take
care of the food! WHAT ARE YOU WORRIED ABOUT!?” I yelled at Violet. Over the
past year she had grown to care for Violet more than what she truly was, a debt
payment. “You never watch her, and she is MY daughter as well Kaderlyn!” She
angrily replied. We’d been going about this for weeks, whether she should take
Azure with her for the witch cycle or should she stay with me. Honestly I had
already made up my mind, just getting Violet to comply was slightly harder.
However, it had been child’s play to simply put a small dose of compliance
potion in her wine this morning to get her to agree. I secretly smirked. She
never suspected a thing. I could see it working now, as her eyes stopped
glowing. “Well….I suppose….fine.” She said, her eyes slightly hazed over from
the effects of the potion. I smiled. “Wonderful! Now, your bags are at the
door, so why don’t you go? Enjoy yourself for a week! You’ve earned it!” I
smooth-talked her out of the door, and down into the carriage which would take
her to the portals which then would take her to the Moonwell Dimension, where
the night people resided and witches’ claimed their homes.
Wonderful, everything’s going according to plan. “Orene! See to it
that Azure is well cared for, and bring her down to my lair at 2 p.m. will you?”
I walked away without waiting for an answer. I knew she would do exactly as I
commanded, otherwise the punishment would be worse than death, as she very well
knew. I thought of fifty years ago when I gave her the long diagonal cuts
across her bodice with demon iron. No healing potion or spell would ever fix
it. The agony could have been avoided, if she had simply thrown away the dead
body, instead of eating it like the ghoul-likes of her always did. I mused to
myself as I walked in and sat down at my desk, prepared to research the dark
magic I was about to do. The time passed and I heard a girl giggle, and looked
up. It was only 1:15 p.m. Mortal realm time, as we all went by that time, the
sun never goes down and stays down permanently here; it simply will go down and
come right back up on the eastern side of the horizon. Azure was standing,
levitating the potion I was brewing in my personal cauldron. The teleportation
threads still clung to her, and her face lit up and the entire potion levitated
up and out of the cauldron, going towards her. Her eyes were still the bright sapphire
color and her hair glossy and shiny. She wore a cute dress with a myst-like
pattern of azure and grey, and the peculiar magick she and her mother had clung
to her as well, the mysterious myst. I sat, watching the potion go toward her
for a moment, and as soon as it got close, the myst lunged out and attacked it,
shredding it to bits and pieces until it all evaporated and passed harmlessly
around Azure. She laughed again, the sound of pealing bells. She looked at me
with delight. “Look, look at what I can do!” She twirled around in a circle and
made it snow, then giggled again. “So, is it time already for another lesson?”
I asked her, getting up and walking around my massive desk. “Yes daddy,
please!!” “Ok then….”
Event: a magical ritual
Time: 5 minutes til midnight
Location: Demon Realms, Myst Dimension, Celtic graveyard.
I held Azure’s hand as we walked solemnly through the cemetery.
The echoes of the dead were faint, but tangible. They were afraid. The
prisoners jerked and moaned against their chains, and were quickly beaten and
silenced. Azure’s sparkling eyes were solemn, she knew this was an important
night. I sat her down on a crypt and sat by her while my servants fixed
everything. In a record time of two minutes, everything was ready. I picked
Azure up and placed her in the middle of the smaller circle. I gave her a
potion to drink and she did, she immediately went under, falling asleep
instantly. I stepped back out of the stones. “Begin.” I said it clearly. At
once, the demon fire lit up the outer circle, and the two smaller circles that
weren’t touching each other on the inside; the one with Azure sleeping
peacefully in the middle had tall walls of fire; nothing would get through. As
for the other, it had see through bars all around it; a powerful cage. “Summon
him.” I commanded. The summoning spell began. The language was intelligible,
demon. I listened to the wording carefully. I heard one word at the end of it:
Diablo. Ah, yes. Finally. Almost at once the Prime Evil appeared, blasting the
whole cemetery with unholy darkness. Everyone staggered except for Azure, who
was protected with the fire, and me. I simply inhaled it, loving the
invigorating feeling. “
Yes?” He appeared
not to have spoken, but simply let his word blast throughout the dimension,
making everything…silent. I spoke then, clear as day.
“You know what I want.” He regarded me coldly, looking at me as
though I was a fly, not a opponent. “
Yes,
but not without payment.” I jerked my head towards the circle, and at once
the prisoners, all a variety of lower-class demon criminals, were thrown into
the circle with Diablo. “
Your feast.
Your payment.” I commanded. The servants watched in quiet mourning and
dismay as the demons were eaten alive, slowly, excruciatingly, in agony, one at
a time. I inhaled their fear, their pain. Yes, I enjoyed it. After several
minutes, he was done. “
As you have wanted
and payed, so it shall be wrought.” A vial of ghostly black appeared in his
hand, and he wrenched his skin off his wrist with his teeth. Black hissing
blood poured steadily from his warped twisted veins as he filled the vial. He
healed just as the vial was full. He held it in his hand, and I levitated it
out. I handled it carefully. “
Will this
do what I want?” I asked carefully, watching his face. “
Yes. Now, RELEASE ME!” He commanded. My
caster said the words at my nod, and the Prime Evil vanished. The wards slowly
came down, and the fire around Azure faded. I walked carefully to her, so as
not to disturb her, and opened her mouth. I poured the blood down her throat.
Immediately, I could see a change. Not physically, but mentally. Her magic was
transforming into something more dangerous, more powerful than I had ever hoped
for. I smiled. At the jerk of my wrists, the servants clattered about, erasing
the evidence of what we had done, of what we had accomplished. Except for
Azure. I gathered her in my arms, and walked to the carriage for the ride home.
“
Oh my sweet Azure, one day, you will be
queen, and one day, the world shall cower in fear at your feet. I promise you
that, daughter, and much more.” I whispered this to her, then smiled at her
sleeping face.
